In today’s digital age, children are spending more and more time on their devices. However, this trend has led to a decline in reading among children, which can have a negative impact on their cognitive and educational development. 

To combat this trend, our team was tasked to create an app for a local library that would help children find suitable books quickly and easily. Our app, called “Miek”, uses a sophisticated algorithm to match children with books based on their reading level and interest. The app includes a user-friendly interface and a mascot to help the children. The app also provides recommendations based on the child’s reading preferences, making it easier for them to discover new books they may enjoy. 

The goal of our project was to promote literacy and a love of reading among children, while also helping the library to better serve its patrons. With miek, we believe that children will be more motivated to read and will have a better chance of finding books that truly capture their interest.
